It is ironic that my medium is watercolor. As a student studying fashion design at FIT, a place that dearly loves a ten-head tall figure rendered watercolor, I wanted nothing to do with the medium, instead, using design markers on geometric human figures, mainly in shades of black and gray.
After I graduated and had been working in the fashion industry a couple of years, a friend dragged me to an exhibition of Beatrix Potter's original work at the Pierpont Morgan Library. Wait a minute, I thought. And I never looked back.
I continue to paint, illustrate, and show on the island of Martha's Vineyard, where I live with a couple of kids and some very naughty pets.
